Introduction to (Major) World-views

October 3 - November 21 2021  |  Capo Beach Church

Capo Beach Church, Domingo Avenue, Dana Point, CA, USA

This class is for every Christian who wants to better understand the world they live in and the prominent world-views that have shaped the western world, such as theism, deism, naturalism, Marxism, nihilism, existentialism, eastern (pantheistic) monism, New Age philosophy, postmodernism, and Islam, in order to be well-read, compassionate, truth-telling evangelists for Christ.

After this class, students will have a deeper appreciation for what other world-views teach in regards to prime reality, external reality, the nature of human beings, death, knowledge, morality, history, and core commitments, as well as to why people behave the way they do (based on what they believe—their worldview).

This will afford them the confidence to speak into other people’s lives with a robust knowledge of how and why the Judeo-Christian worldview offers the best answers to life’s most important questions: Where did we come from? Who am I? Why am I here? (What’s my purpose?) Is there life after death? Is there a God? How can we know Him? What is good/evil? Is there such a thing as absolute (moral) truths?
