Weekly Devotion #14

“For the Lord your God has blessed you in everything you have done. He has watched your every step through this great wilderness. During these forty years, the Lord your God has been with you, and you have lacked nothing.”

Psalm 33:18-19 affirms God’s committed heart toward us: “But the Lord watches over those who fear Him, those who rely on His unfailing love. He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine.”

If you are in a season where you find yourself paralyzed by worry, fear or even by the threat of evil agendas, perhaps you’re paying too much attention to the enemy’s deceitful schemes rather than to God’s trustworthy promises.

Oftentimes, in the midst of chaos, we are easily distracted by the things that vie for our attention, finding ourselves being reactive and compulsive rather than intentional and disciplined.

Have you noticed that worry and worship cannot coexist? Rather than focusing on and worrying about what we think is missing, let’s commit to praising and thanking the One who provides and knows exactly what we need. He delights in giving us good things, not because we deserve them, but because He is a good good Father.

Lord, we come before You knowing that in You, we lack nothing. Your very name “Jehovah Jireh” means “The Lord will provide.” You, oh Lord are our portion! We would be wrong to pursue anything other than You, for in Your hands, You hold everything that we need. In You we find peace; in You we find forgiveness; in You we find strength; in You we find healing; in You we find direction; in You we find guidance; in You we find stability; in You we find security; in You we find refuge and Lord in You we find provision of every manner. What more could we want? Praise You Father! Amen!
