2’s and 3’s – January
The month of January is all about snow, winter, arctic animals and warm clothes. In this class, a highlighted activity was the construction of snowmen. The activity focused on size recognition, for example, small circle, medium circle and large circle. The class expanded on by “free choice” after the building of their snowmen. They were able to put faces, and details on their snowmen. Free choice is an important growing concept in preschool because imagination leads to curiosity. The many questions a preschooler will ask is their way of showing awareness of surroundings including faces, objects, and places.
