Weekly Devotion #12

Jennifer Chapman   -

As I prayed about what the Lord wanted to relay in this week’s devotion, I was not surprised He wanted me to share the Godly truths that ministered to me in my recent “valley” experience.  I have to say it was the lowest valley of my life – dare I say a pit, one I was not certain I could endure.  But as our Father does, He sent a Godly sister to remind me to meditate on and cling to the following truths.  She reminded me these truths are meant for an abundant life and that the lies of the enemy are meant for destruction. If you are in the valley and in need of encouragement, like I was, please hear these truths from our loving Creator:

  • “As believers, we are children of the King of kings” –  John 1:12
  • “We have been bought by the blood of Christ” –  1 Peter 1
  • “The battle for our eternal soul is real and has already been won” –  John 3:16
  • “We are redeemed and have victory in Christ” –  Galatians 3:13
  • “We are restored and loved” – Colossians 1:13-14
  • “We are set free from the bonds of sin, lies, abuse and death” –  Romans 6
  • “We get to experience the amazing freedom in knowing our sins are forgiven and forgotten by our Father in heaven” –  Jeremiah 31:34
  • “We get to experience enormous breakthroughs as we forgive ourselves for our sins,” (Phillipians 3:13) “and as we forgive others for their sin against us,” (Ephesians 4:32)
  • “We are loved right where we are at this moment” –  Psalm 34:18
  • “We don’t have to get our act together to earn our Father’s love” –  Ephesians 2:8
  • “He created us with a plan and purpose for good knowing full well we would sin, make mistakes, fall short of His will and backslide” –  Jeremiah 29:11
  • “He is with us in the valley and on the mountain top,” – Romans 8:38-39
  • “He knows our every tear and if we seek Him, He will hold us together when nothing else can,” –  Psalm 56
  • “If we seek Him and ask, He will rebuild us with a firm foundation that endures anything life throws at us and we can have peace and joy in midst of it all” –  Luke 6:48
  • “He rejoices with us as we celebrate on the mountain top and pushes us to encourage others with our testimony” – Romans 5:8
  • “As a son or daughter of God we have a testimony, a story of how God has redeemed our life, that we are called to share” – Matt 5:14-16
  • “As we share our testimony, we encourage others to seek a relationship with Christ and the redemption that comes with it” – 2 Timothy 1:8

If you are in a valley and you are hurting, please know you are not alone.  We are stronger together (Ecclesiastes 4:12) and there is no shame in seeking wise Godly counsel. We have pastors on staff, spiritual leaders, and a Care Department with Godly brothers and sisters that would love to pray with you and encourage you in the Lord’s truths.  Seek our loving Father in prayer and in the Word and you will find Him!
